Created in 2012, S.T.A.N.D. was the first and only online magazine for Real Life Superheroines and their supporters. Originally created by and for women, S.T.A.N.D. is now a newsletter/calendar full of information about and for all heroes, male and female.
The Mission of STAND is built on a platform of community outreach. The goal of our site is to empower, strengthen and bring a level of accountability to men and women who transcend social, economic and ethnic differences by cultivating and encouraging the premise that everyone can make a difference in their community. We believe that everyone can be a superhero, whether part of the Real Life Superhero movement, or not.
The decision to become a peacekeeper may have been an easy choice for you, but we understand firsthand that the path to becoming a “real life super hero” is not an easy one to walk without help. To date, there has been no guiding light in the search for information specifically for women in this field, and upon further investigation, not a whole lot of help for men, either. Our goal is to provide you with information, connections and support to help you along your chosen path.
We strive for fellowship and sister/brotherhood. We believe all people should be treated with kindness and compassion, especially our children. While patrolling and peace keeping, we believe that the use of physical force is something to be considered only as a last resort, and only as self-defense. We believe in teaching and promoting de-escalation, and compassion. People of all beliefs, faiths, and creed are welcome.
We believe in taking the higher road and leading by example.
